Directed by Keishi Nagatsuka! Starring Kayoko Shiraishi! “Hitachibo Kaison” performance ticket gift!!

演出・長塚圭史! 主演・白石加代子! 「常陸坊海尊」公演チケットプレゼント!!

The first work that Keishi Nagatsuka worked on after becoming artistic advisor was said to be the masterpiece of Matsushiro Akimoto, a leading post-war playwright known for works such as ``Chikamatsu Shinju Monogatari'', and was created in 1964, when Japan first hosted the Olympic Games. ``Hitachibo Kaison'' is a legendary play that shocked the Japanese theater world at the time of its release. As a loyal retainer of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Hitachibo Kaison accompanied Musashibo Benkei and others to flee the capital, and just before the Battle of Korokawa in Hiraizumi, Oshu, the last place of Yoshitsune's death, he abandoned his master and fled to survive. He is a legendary figure who is said to have become immortal and to tell people about the outcome of the Genpei War. This work, set against the backdrop of the far-fetched legend of a Tohoku nobleman, depicts the evacuation of school children during and after the war, and issues such as human "life" and "sexuality" as well as inequality and discrimination. It will be revived in the winter of 2019-2020 with Keishi Nagatsuka's direction.

A story of the soul that depicts the connections between lives, told by talented actors and staff.
Kayoko Shiraishi, a legend in the theater world who has continued to share contemporary Japanese theater with the world since she started her career as a signboard actress for the Waseda Theater Company, plays the role of the shrine maiden grandmother who calls herself Kaison's wife. Yuri Nakamura, who has appeared in many popular dramas and movies, has a unique presence as Yukino, the grandmother's beautiful granddaughter who toyed with men with her magical nature.

Keita Yasuda, an evacuated child from Tokyo who lives with his grandmother and Yukino and eventually becomes Kaison and sets off on a journey of repentance to atone for his sins, will be played by Hisashi Inoue's ``Who Am I?'', a Yomiuri Theater production. Selected as one of the top five actors in the first half of the year, Gen Hirano has been expanding his career to film in recent years. Yutaka Ito, who was evacuated with Keita and later visited Keita as an office worker, is Hiroyuki Onoe, a talented actor who has played a wide variety of roles and is trusted by various directors.

Also appearing are Asaharu Hasegawa as an elementary school teacher evacuated from Tokyo, Minoru Takagi as Kotobuki, the owner of the inn that takes care of the evacuees, and Keita Oishi as Gentaku Tosenbo, a mountain priest who follows the grandmother played by Shiraishi. . Furthermore, the legendary figure Hitachibo Kaison, who is also the title of this work, appears as three different Kaison in the play. The first Kaison and the third Kaison include Hiroshi Omori and Keiji Manago, who were active as the signboard actors of the Jiyu Gekijo led by Kazumi Kushida, and after the disbandment of the theater company, gave off a unique presence on various stages. Shintaro Hirahara, who is active both domestically and internationally as a contemporary dancer and choreographer, has also provided choreography for Akira Shirai and Ikiume Theater Company. In addition to appearing as an actor, Hirahara will also be in charge of the movements.

Furthermore, Tomoyuki Tanaka, who is active both domestically and internationally as a DJ and producer, is in charge of the music, including his own solo project FPM (Fantastic Plastic Machine). Expectations are high that Tanaka, who will be participating in a production directed by Nagatsuka for the first time, will be in charge of the stage music. Please look forward to ``Hitachibo Kaison'', which brings together a unique and talented cast and staff under the direction of Keishi Nagatsuka, who leads the Japanese theater world!
