Ichinoyu Honkan is long-established Hakone ryokan (traditional inn), a 4-story wooden building in the sukiya style. It is registered as a national tangible cultural property and is certified as contributing to the historical landscape.
The architectural styles of the Taisho era (1912 - 1926) and the early Showa era (1926 - 1989) can be seen everywhere in the bathrooms and guest rooms, creating a lasting sense of traditional Japanese culture.
