"Yokohama City Ceramics Center" is located in Honmoku Shimin Park, which is adjacent to Sankeien Garden, where you can enjoy ceramics in abundant nature. It is a ceramic art class that holds various courses according to each level from beginners to experienced people.
Okay even for beginners? Can I do it because I'm not very dexterous? Even those who are worried about such things are okay! There is also a one-day experience class where beginners can easily enjoy ceramic art, and a class where parents and children can experience making ceramics together. If there is a vacancy on the day, you can jump in and participate! Experienced people also have level-up courses, and you can enjoy making pottery according to each level!
At the time of the interview, we visited the "free pottery class". I have also taken the one-day experience class "Electric Potter's Wheel Experience" for beginners! !!

Bye grind
Take the thickness of the side and grind it thinly to make the shape of the vessel.

The rim is smoothed with leather to make it feel good.
Cut out

Use your index finger to squeeze the part to be cut, and use a sippiki (cutting thread) to separate it.
Produced 3 cups of different heights
Select a medium-sized teacup from them

During pottery making, I have to integrate the three things of posture, pedaling to adjust speed, and focusing on my fingertips, so I really realized that it is not an ordinary thing to study pottery. At the time of the interview, we talked to people who have a long experience in making pottery, and they all said, "There is still more."
After all, even if the shape is a little distorted (laughs), the ones I made are more attached to the ones I bought than the ones I bought. When I experienced ceramic art this time, I thought so again.
