Yokosuka Arts Theater
The Yokosuka Arts Theater was established in February 1994 on the site of the EM Club (US Navy Soldiers Club), the birthplace of postwar Japanese jazz, as a place to connect people and culture that enrich the lives of Yokosuka citizens. It opened. The EM club was the birthplace of jazz in Japan after the war, and immediately after the end of the war, world-famous entertainers such as Louis Armstrong often visited to perform. In addition, musicians representing Japan in later years, such as George Kawaguchi and Nobuo Hara, performed hot performances, transmitting authentic American scented music nationwide. It consists of a theater with two different faces, a large theater (Yokosuka Arts Theater) and a small theater (Yokosuka Bayside Pocket).
