Three stepbrothers gather in a room in an apartment to play one last game of mahjong. The fourth and final player, Rouji, never shows up.
As if to relieve their frustration, they talk about what Rōji was like yesterday, but there are some discrepancies between the two accounts of "yesterday"...

A representative work of contemporary Chinese theatre, depicting anxiety about the future and doubts about the meaning of one's existence. It skillfully portrays the psychology of contemporary Chinese people who, while becoming wealthy through reform and opening up, feel a sense of discomfort with the changing society and times.

The play premiered in Beijing in 2000. It was performed in Japan in the early 2000s (in Chinese) and garnered a great response.
This will be the first time the play is translated and performed in Japanese.
