The stylishness and design of Edo ~ From the short sleeve collection ~

Kobayashi is a form of basic dress in the Edo period, and is considered to be the prototype of modern "kimono". Many of the sleeves worn by samurai women are Yuzen, embroidery, and many thoroughly luxuriously applied techniques of squeezing, and its design has a wide variety of subjects such as jewelery, plants, landscapes and literature. On the other hand, the sleeve that the woman in the town was wearing also has some stylish ingenuity. We will exhibit 65 short sleeves in our collection in the first half and the second half separately. Previous term: 4/28 – 5/13, late period: 5/15 – 6/3
