It was rebuilt with reinforced concrete in 1960 based on models and drawings made in the Edo period. The 3-tiered 4th floor castle tower has attached turrets and watari turrets.
The balustrade on the top floor was newly added during the reconstruction. Inside, you can find armor, swords, drawings, old documents, and other materials that convey the history of Odawara, as well as materials related to samurai culture.
