Fujisawa City is a facility where you can appreciate local materials such as Tokaido Fujisawa-shuku and Enoshima Ukiyo-e, with the aim of fostering citizens' attachment to their hometown and contributing to the improvement of their culture. Was opened. In 1980 (1980), Fujisawa City's collection of materials such as ukiyo-e was centered around Enoshima ukiyo-e, which was handed over from former president of Nihon University, Fumiaki Kure, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the municipal organization. , As part of the local materials, we have collected ukiyo-e prints and related materials on the theme of Fujisawa-shuku and Enoshima.

Ukiyo-e is a painting that depicts people's lives and social conditions, and developed as a common culture during the Edo period. Furthermore, at the end of the 19th century, it had a great influence on European painters such as Van Gogh, and it is a work of art that attracts attention from all over the world. In the land of Fujisawa, Tokaido Fujisawa-shuku was located in the Edo period, and Ji-shu Sohonzan Seikou-ji Temple (Yukoji Temple) was located, and to Enoshima and Oyama (Afuriyama), which were places of worship and excursion. As the entrance to the shrine, many ukiyo-e paintings rooted in famous places and legends have been drawn.
