芦ノ湖

Lake Ashi, the caldera lake of Hakone volcano, is located at 724m above sea level, and is a resort area where you can enjoy the spectacular spots that represent Hakone, such as the fresh green of spring, fireworks in summer, colored leaves in autumn, and upside-down Mt. Fuji reflected on the surface of the lake in winter. It is also recommended for historical and cultural exploration, such as "Hakone Shrine" which is famous as a power spot, "Hakone Sekisho" which is full of Edo atmosphere, and "Old Tokaido Suginamiki".
Ashinoyu, which is located near the highest point (874m) on Route 1 further up from Lake Ashi, is a famous hot spring village that has been around since the Edo period. From Edo to the Meiji era, you can enjoy the dignified atmosphere and time while being embraced by nature in a place where many writers gathered.
