Kanagawa Prefectural Music Hall
Kanagawa Prefectural Music Hall opened in 1954 as the first public hall dedicated to music in Japan. Modeled after London's Royal Festival Hall, the hall was designed to have the best acoustics.When it opened, it was praised as having the ``best sound in the East,'' and its sound continues to receive high praise not only from Japan but also from overseas. Masu. All walls of the hall are made of wood, and the acoustic sound continues to impress people even 60 years after its opening. In 1998, the building was selected as one of the 100 Best Public Buildings by the Ministry of Construction as an excellent community-based public facility, and in 1999 it was recognized as an important cultural heritage building of the 20th century. It was selected as one of the ``Top 20 Modern Movement Architectures in Japan'' by the international organization established to research and preserve records of buildings and environments related to the movement.
