Tokaido Kawasaki-shuku Communication Center

The Tokaido Kawasaki-juku Communication Center was built based on the many years of activity by local residents, with the aim of learning about the history and culture of Kawasaki-juku on the Tokaido and passing it on to future generations, as well as becoming a hub for local activities and exchange.

Kawasaki-juku flourished as one of the 53 stations along the Tokaido road during the Edo period, and is an important historical resource that is the origin of the modern-day city of Kawasaki. However, much of the material was lost in the war, and most of the appearance of the Edo period post town has been lost.

However, thanks to the tremendous cooperation of local residents and other related parties, we have now dug up the memories and records that remain of Kawasaki-juku, and, using a variety of methods, established the Tokaido Kawasaki-juku Communication Center as a facility that conveys Kawasaki-juku in an enjoyable way for everyone.
