The Dosun Festival, which is held as a memorial service for the Miura clan, who flourished on the Miura Peninsula from the Kamakura to Muromachi periods, will be held again this year.
"Kasakake," a long-standing tradition of the Miura clan, is one of Japan's three ancient forms of archery, alongside "Yabusame" and "Inuoumono," in which archers shoot arrows at targets from horseback. Archers perform this kasakake as one with their horses, galloping along the Araihama coast.
This year marks the 48th time the event is being held, and we invite you to enjoy the magnificent horse archery, the specialty of the Miura clan.
