In 1920, Britain was in a dire economic situation after the First World War.

The upper-class resort town of Bath, located to the southwest, was also a popular historic spa city with the remains of the ancient Roman baths, attracting visitors seeking health, but was also in economic decline.

Alex Cunningham is a vaudeville performer who works at the Palladium, a small music hall in Bath, striving to soothe the hearts of the weary visitors to the city and provide laughter and entertainment.
One day, Alex comes face to face with his grandfather's life for the first time when he meets Gino Rossi, a bicycle repairman from Italy who is migrant and has murderous intentions to avenge his family's grudge, and Barbara Dedalus, who is visiting Bath as a medical volunteer.
The "red stone" that Gino dropped and Barbara picked up.

And then Alex had a dream when he was in an accident while trying to save Gino.

As Alex unravels the connections between the two, he unearths hidden details about his family's past that will have unexpected consequences.
