Okada Museum of Art

The Okada Museum of Art opened in Kowakudani, Hakone, in October 2013. With five floors and an exhibition area of approximately 5,000 square meters, it boasts the largest indoor exhibition area in Hakone, and regularly exhibits approximately 450 pieces of Japanese and Asian ceramics, paintings, and other artworks. The museum was conceived with the desire to cherish and preserve the art treasures handed down in Japan, share the joy of encountering beauty, and pass it on to future generations. The museum's facade is graced with a large mural of the wind god and thunder god, "Wind and Time" (2013), a 12-meter-high, 30-meter-wide painting by contemporary Japanese painter Fukui Kotaro. After viewing the work, visitors can enjoy a foot bath at the cafe, which offers 100% natural hot spring water, or stroll through the garden.
