Talk and screening of "The Life of a Slain Person"
Now is the time to pass on the spirit of the "man who was slashed 50,000 times" to the next generation.
On March 22, 2026, a one-day special event will be held at the Yokohama Museum of Art Lecture Hall, focusing on the "assassin" role, which is the essence of period dramas.
They scatter beautifully to highlight the main character and breathe life into the story.
The late Fukumoto Seizo was known as "Japan's No. 1" in the world of "characters who get killed."
At this event, we will be screening a new documentary film that follows his life, "Fukumoto Seizo: Someone is Watching, Somewhere" (preview version).
In addition, we will be welcoming actors who are active on the front lines of Toei Kyoto Studio as guests, including Rantaro Mine, who is attracting attention for his role in the movie "Samurai Time Slippers," and Riki Motoyama, who gave a passionate performance in the popular movie "Eleven Bandits." They will talk about behind the scenes of the filming that you can only hear here, and the appeal of period dramas as a physical culture!
■ Highlights of this event
• [First screening in the Kanto region] A rare documentary film (preview version) of Fukumoto Seizo, shot by director Yasuda Junichi (Samurai Time Slipper), will be shown.
• [Special Guests] Rantaro Mine, a legend at Toei Kyoto Studio, and Chikara Motoyama, a leader of the next generation. It is an extremely rare opportunity for this kind of meeting to take place in the Kanto region.
