Princess Maleen, having refused the marriage proposal of the prince of a neighboring country, is imprisoned in a dark tower for seven years by her father, the king.
As time passed, Princess Maleen escaped the tower and was confronted with the drastically changed state of her homeland...
Wiping away her tears, Princess Maleen sets off on a journey with her ladies-in-waiting, but upon arriving in another country, she is asked by the Masked Princess to act as a substitute bride. However, the groom turns out to be her sworn enemy!
Based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale "Princess Malene," we present the story of both its surface and hidden sides in a two-act structure!
