The 29th Shonan Hiratsuka Go Festival

This is one of Japan's largest Go events, held annually in the shopping district in front of Hiratsuka Station. More than 70 professional Go players, mainly disciples of the late Minoru Kitani 9-dan, who opened a Go dojo in Hiratsuka in the early Showa period, gather to play against participants in a 10,000 simultaneous Go tournament and various other events.
