Yokohama Noh Theater

Yokohama Noh Theater

This facility specializes in classical performing arts, primarily Noh and Kyogen. The Noh stage is a restored version of the one built in 1875 at the former residence of the Maeda family, the lords of the Kaga Domain (a Yokohama City designated tangible cultural property).

Since its opening in June 1996, the museum has hosted highly planned performances, outreach programs, and barrier-free Noh performances.

While the facility is closed for large-scale renovations until June 2026, we are operating "OTABISHO Yokohama Noh Theater," a gallery and shop specializing in Noh and Kyogen, on the 5th floor of Landmark Plaza in the Minato Mirai district, as a temporary base during this time. In addition, we are holding performances and workshops at various locations throughout the city.
