Yokohama to Totsuka – The roots of Kiyoken, from the famous Gontazaka to a large factory district, and two post towns –
The Hakone Ekiden, a New Year's tradition, is a familiar sight on television, but that course is actually steeped in rich history and culture!
The second leg of the journey will cover approximately 13km, from Yokohama Station to Totsuka Station. We'll be taking some detours along the way!
From the roots of Yokohama's famous Kiyoken confectionery, to the remnants of post towns and notorious railway crossings that once plagued athletes along the Tokaido road, and the surprising past of the factory district home to well-known companies—
A current tour guide provides a thorough explanation of the city's transformations that aren't covered in textbooks!

Walking with friends or a guide makes 13km fly by. The sense of accomplishment after completing the walk is exceptional!
