THE HAKONE OPEN-AIR MUSEUM

THE HAKONE OPEN-AIR MUSEUM

Hakone offers magnificent natural beauty throughout the four seasons. The Hakone Open-Air Museum, which opened in 1969, is Japan's first open-air museum, taking advantage of the surrounding natural environment. Approximately 120 masterpieces by leading modern and contemporary sculptors are permanently displayed in a lush 70,000 square meter garden overlooking the Hakone mountains. Visitors can leisurely admire their favorite works, stroll around at their own pace, and engage with art in their own way. In addition, there is the Picasso Pavilion, which rotates the display of over 300 works from one of the world's leading collections, as well as indoor exhibition halls and a natural hot spring footbath, allowing visitors to spend a truly enriching and relaxing time.
