THE HAKONE OPEN-AIR MUSEUM

THE HAKONE OPEN-AIR MUSEUM

Hakone is a place where you can enjoy the magnificent nature of the four seasons. The Hakone Open-Air Museum, which opened in 1969, is the first open-air museum in Japan, making use of this natural environment. In a lush 70,000m2 garden overlooking the Hakone mountains, about 120 masterpieces by leading modern and contemporary sculptors are on permanent display. You can enjoy art in any way you like, whether that be by taking your time to look at your favorite works or just taking a leisurely stroll. There is also the Picasso Pavilion, which displays over 300 pieces from one of the world's leading collections, as well as an indoor exhibition hall and a foot bath with natural hot spring water, allowing you to spend a relaxing and enriching time.
