Dogu are human-shaped earthenware objects made from clay and fired. They are thought to be tools deeply connected to the spiritual culture of the Jomon period, but they are also mysterious relics about which there are still many mysteries.
There are many Jomon period ruins in Atsugi City, but the unearthing of clay figurines is extremely rare, making them difficult to come across.
In this special exhibition, clay figurines that are rare in Atsugi City will be collected together on loan from within and outside the prefecture, and the rich culture of the Jomon period will be introduced through the clay figurines.
