Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura Annex
The Kamakura Annex, which opened in 1984, is located about 350 meters on foot from the former Kamakura Hall (closed in March 2016) in the direction of Kita-Kamakura. It was designed by Masato Otaka (1923-2010). It was designed to blend in with the residential area between the mountains. After more than 30 years in business and a two-year closure for facility renovations and to improve user services, it reopened on October 12, 2019. The walls of the exhibition rooms have been renovated, and a café space has been added to the terrace facing the sculpture garden, improving accessibility. |
