KAAT Human Resource Development Program 3rd Green Theater Workshop
"Let's aim for a sustainable future using life cycle assessment (LCA)"
"Sustainability" means "sustainability" in Japanese.
This refers to systems and processes that enable the environment to maintain its diversity and productivity into the future, and enable our society to continue to function within that environment.
This is a major issue that society must address now, and as members of society, those involved in the performing arts cannot be exceptions.
KAAT holds ongoing workshops to consider how performing arts (green theater) can produce richer forms of expression while being environmentally conscious.
This time, we will learn about a methodology called Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), which is widely used in industry. We will also conduct group work on the assignment, aiming to deepen each participant's understanding and put it into practice.
LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) is a method to quantitatively evaluate and "visualize" the environmental impact of all processes of a product or service, from the extraction of raw materials to disposal and recycling. It is used for environmentally friendly product development and improvement.
