Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall (Jack)![]() Three towers are representative of Yokohama: "King" at the Kanagawa Prefectural Office, "Queen" at Yokohama Customs, and "Jack" at Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall. In the early Showa period, when there were no tall buildings yet, sailors of foreign ships affectionately called these towers visible from Yokohama Port, praying to them for safe voyages and using them as landmarks when entering port. Inspired by these people of the past, there is now a legend that if you visit spots with a panoramic view of the three towers, your wishes will come true. Every year on March 10th, various events are held to mark "Three Towers Day." |
