Baroque Music in a Western-style House: 17th and 18th Century French Music
In late March, the park overlooking Yokohama Port is filled with the fragrant scent of spring flowers in full bloom.
We will be performing baroque music on old-style instruments (baroque oboe, viola da gamba, and harpsichord) in the hall of the British House in Yokohama, a Western-style building originally built as the British Consulate General. Please enjoy this spring moment at your leisure.

British House in Yokohama![]() It was built in 1937 as the official residence of the British Consul General. It is a two-story reinforced concrete building with a stately British design, and the high-positioned doorknobs give an indication that it was once home to British people. It is adjacent to the rose garden in Minato Mirai Park, and in May, June, October, and November, the house is filled with the scent of colorful roses. |
