It was built in 1937 as the official residence of the British Consul General. It is a two-story reinforced concrete building with a stately British design, and the high-positioned doorknobs give an indication that it was once home to British people. It is adjacent to the rose garden in Minato Mirai Park, and in May, June, October, and November, the house is filled with the scent of colorful roses.
