National Theater sponsored Bunraku performance pre-event in February 2026 Welcome to Bunraku @ Yokohama
The February Bunraku performances will feature masterpieces such as "Ehon Taikoki," which will be performed in its entirety for the first time in 19 years, and "Kanjincho," which features a must-see "Tobi Roppo" (flying rakugo) on the hanamichi (flower path), a rare sight in Bunraku. On Sunday, February 8th, just before the opening night, an event will be held at the KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre, where you can get up close and personal with puppet explanations and demonstrations (free admission, no prior registration required).

A facility dedicated to performing arts such as theater, musicals, and dance. Since April 2021, playwright, director, and actor Keishi Nagatsuka has been appointed artistic director, and the facility aims to be a theater that is "open" to the city, creating and presenting excellent performing arts works such as theater, musicals, and dance.
