Enjoy a summer night's cello performance by Akiko Sakamoto, cellist of the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra. A selection of familiar yet profound masterpieces await you, including Bach's Arioso, Beethoven's Sonata No. 3, Rachmaninoff's Vocalise, and Cassadó's Words of Affection.
In a space where only two instruments, cello and piano, face each other, there is a different kind of stillness and tension than in an orchestra. We will deliver a time when the air between notes, the breath of the performers—all of these, born from simplicity, become music.

Built in April 1992, almost in the center of the lush green Hodogaya Park in Kanagawa Prefecture, this cultural facility was constructed to support the artistic and cultural activities of the citizens of Kanagawa Prefecture. Surrounded by the beauty of nature throughout the seasons, it is used as a venue for practicing and performing arts such as music, theater, and dance. In addition, the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, the only professional orchestra in Kanagawa Prefecture, opens its rehearsals to the public, allowing people to experience excellent music up close. |
