Special Exhibition "100th Anniversary of Birth: Satoshi Kako Exhibition - To Live is Truly a Joy"
Satoshi Kako (1926-2018) was an author who created over 600 picture books, including the "Daruma-chan" series and "The Crow's Bakery." Having experienced defeat in the war at the age of 19, Kako had lost hope, but it was children who reminded him of the joy of living.
After graduating from university, Kako participated in activities involving children while working, and through her interactions with them, she became deeply involved in creative activities. With the desire that children living in the future would "rejoice greatly in life," Kako continued to create picture books until the end of her life.
This exhibition looks back at various works created by Kako, along with valuable original drawings and materials.
Please take a moment to reflect on Kako's unwavering desire for peace and the happiness of children.
