Thinking about how to create a stage production from the perspective of "the ending" – Unraveling the cycle of theatrical performance through the 5R framework
All events, including stage performances, inevitably have an "end," and this end comes repeatedly. After a performance, there are always things that are no longer needed, such as printed materials, props, and exhibits, and how these are handled becomes an important process that leads to the next production.

However, this is not simply a "disposal problem," but is deeply connected to the question of how to "create" a stage. When considering sustainable stage production, thinking about the "ending" is also connected to thinking about the "beginning."

In this KAAT Green Theater workshop, we will consider how to create a stage production by looking back at five perspectives on resources, known as the 5Rs*, while focusing on what remains after an event or performance.

In the first half, we will introduce case studies from two businesses involved in flyer and material recycling, and in the second half, we will use these as a starting point for group work. Starting with "things after the performance" in each participant's workplace, we will re-examine the way stage production is done from the perspective of the 5Rs.
