This building was designed and lived in by the writer Satomiton himself in 1923. After Mr. Satomi moved there in 1933, it was taken over by the US military and used as a hotel, and then carefully lived in as a residence by the current owner, Mr. Ishikawa. From 1994, it was designated as an important landscape building by the city ( Designation No. 8).
``Nishimikado Salone'' has been rented from Mr. Ishikawa by studio acca, a first-class architectural firm, and is open to the public as a place where people can gather, learn, and talk. As part of our efforts to maintain and utilize this valuable architectural asset, a portion of the proceeds from event planning and rental space in this building are used for building maintenance and repair costs.
