Kawasaki City Art Center opened in October 2007 as a symbol of Kawasaki City's "Shinyuri Art Town". There is the "Alterio Small Theater", which is close to the stage and the audience seats for easy viewing, and the "Alterio Movie Theater," where you can watch movies in comfortable chairs. Centered on these two compact yet full-fledged theaters, this is a facility where you can enjoy theater, movies, music, and more.
"Alterio Small Theater" started by naming the sponsored performance "Shinyuri Theater". A public theater gathers professional theater and musical actors and production staff, and aims to be a regional theater = regional theater that serves as a base for creative transmission in the Shin-Yurigaoka area. Activities such as the establishment of the community-participatory Gekidan Wagamachi are unique to the Kawasaki City Arts Center, as they make performing arts more accessible by not only watching, but also participating.
At the Arterio Movie Theater, as a local mini-theater, we screen unique works from around the world that are not screened at cinema complexes. We also provide detailed services such as barrier-free screenings for the visually and hearing impaired, and screenings with daycare for children. We also hold movie and animation making workshops for elementary school students and video production courses for adults every year.
In addition to these two theaters, there is also a "recording room" suitable for narration and music recording, and a "video editing room" with an editing system using Final Cut Pro, which can be rented out.
