Nihon Shinbun Museum

Nihon Shinbun Museum

On July 20, 2016, News Park (Japan Newspaper Museum) was reborn as a facility where visitors can learn about the role of newspapers and journalism in the information society through hands-on experience. In April 2019, a new permanent exhibition room was opened with an expanded history exhibition zone. There are many fun ways to learn, such as touch panel displays introducing the work and off-duty life of newspaper reporters. In the interview experience game "Yokohama Time Travel," visitors can travel back in time by holding a tablet over a diorama that recreates the streets of Yokohama. Visitors can investigate and solve mysteries of Yokohama, such as the arrival of Perry and the signing of the Treaty of Peace and Amity between the United States and Japan, and the secret behind the creation of Japan Boulevard and Yamashita Park. In addition to holding special exhibitions and various events, visitors can also receive a commemorative newspaper to commemorate their visit.
