Originally, this zone was home to the Teisan Warehouses, where silk from all over Japan was gathered and which laid the foundation for modern Japan. Currently, it is being reborn as a complex of facilities centered around high-rise condominiums, hotels, and shops. BankART KAIKO is located on the first floor of a building that houses a live music venue on the second floor, and is a restored version of one of the Teisan Warehouses built in 1926. Like other BankART facilities, it will function as an art space, hosting exhibitions, events, and shops.
