This art museum specializes in contemporary Japanese paintings and stands on a hill overlooking Lake Ashi. In addition to a comprehensive collection of works by Kyujin Yamamoto, Ikuo Hirayama, Fumiko Hori, and others, the museum also has and exhibits many masterpieces by talented contemporary Japanese artists (exhibitions are changed three times a year). Traditional crafts such as kaleidoscopes, Noh masks, and lacquerware are also on display.
From the 50-meter-long panoramic observation lounge, you can enjoy a picturesque view of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji throughout the four seasons. We hope to provide visitors with a moment of relaxation while enjoying the masterpieces of modern Japanese painting and the best view in Hakone.
Access: From Hakone Tozan Railway "Hakone Yumoto Station" or JR "Odawara Station", take the bus bound for "Hakone-machi Port" and get off at the "Motohakone Port" bus stop
