Nihon-Odori Avenue retains the atmosphere of Yokohama's opening as a port city. The former Mitsui & Co. Yokohama Building, built in 1911 (Meiji 44), is the oldest office building in Japan. Galerie Paris is located on the first floor of this building.
Beyond the realm of fine arts, the museum showcases works by artists active in architecture, stage design, fashion, and the music scene. The adjoining shop sells unique jewelry and fashion items by domestic and international designers.
