The Tin Toy Museum has a permanent exhibition of approximately 3,000 toys that were mainly manufactured in Japan from the 1890s to the 1960s. This is part of the collection that Director Kitahara has been collecting since around 1973. The museum opened in April 1986 with the desire to make the toys available to as many people as possible. The tin toys are exhibited in a museum renovated from an old Western-style building. Why not return to those days when you were engrossed in playing in Yokohama, an exotic city with a foreign cemetery and old churches, and a truly exotic atmosphere?
