The Tin Toy Museum has a permanent exhibition of about 3,000 toys that were mainly manufactured in Japan from the 1890s to the 1960s. It is part of the collection that Director Kitahara started collecting around 1973. The museum opened in April 1986 with the desire to show the toys to many people. The tin toys are exhibited in a museum that was renovated from an old Western-style building. Why not go back to the time when you used to play with toys in Yokohama, an exotic and foreign city with a foreign cemetery and old churches?
