Until 2005, the Koganecho district was lined with more than 250 illegal special restaurants. Since the launch of the Koganecho Bazaar in 2008, the town's appearance has changed little by little. Locals and artists have worked together to revitalize the town, and it is now known as "Koganecho, the town of art." There are many young artists in this town who have the potential to take flight and make it big on the world stage.
