It has hosted a wide variety of events, from photography and art exhibitions, tea ceremonies, and concerts to filming for TV commercials and TV dramas, and has received many positive comments. Located on Bashamichi, Kannai's main street, Bashamichi, the building, along with the Prefectural Museum of History (formerly the Yokohama Specie Bank Head Office), the Nippon Kasai Yokohama Building (formerly the Kawasaki Bank Yokohama Branch), and the Fuji Bank Yokohama Branch, forms part of Bashamichi's unique historical landscape and serves as an important living witness to the area's glorious history. The Bashamichi Otsu Building is a valuable building designated as a Yokohama City Historical Building. It is considered a typical example of a mid-sized office building from the early Showa period and is a rare surviving example. Furthermore, the building's rooftop is a popular spot offering panoramic views of Bashamichi's historic landscape, making it a popular photo spot.
