Bashamichi Otsu Gallery is a unique gallery located in the basement of the Bashamichi Otsu Building. It has been used by a wide range of people for various events, from photography and painting exhibitions to tea ceremonies, concerts, and even commercial and drama filming, and has received much positive feedback. The Bashamichi Otsu Building is located on Bashamichi, the main street of Kannai, and, along with the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of History (formerly the Yokohama Specie Bank headquarters), the Nippon Fire Insurance Yokohama Building (formerly the Kawasaki Bank Yokohama Branch), and the Fuji Bank Yokohama Branch, forms part of Bashamichi's unique historical landscape, serving as an important living witness to the glorious history of this area. The Bashamichi Otsu Building is a valuable building designated as a Yokohama City Historic Building. It is also considered a typical example of a medium-sized office building from the early Showa period, and is a rare surviving example. Furthermore, the building's rooftop is a popular spot offering a panoramic view of Bashamichi's historical landscape and is frequently used for filming.
