Bringing smiles to everyone through entertainment -Mama Rhythm Papa Rhythm-

エンターテインメントを通して、みんなに笑顔を―ままリズムぱぱリズム―

``Mama Rhythm Papa Rhythm'' was started by a kindergarten teacher, a former member of the Shiki Theater Company, and a mother who was a theme park dancer. The origin of our activities is our desire to create an environment where moms can go out with peace of mind, and to provide a place where mom friends can be made with kindness and love. This time, we spoke to some of them.

Ms. Takiguchi and Ms. Mori, who studied expression education in the same department at the same university, reunited after becoming mothers and started ``Mama Rhythm Papa Rhythm'' with the hope of cheering up moms and dads through entertainment.

``When my children started walking, I felt like there was no place I could take them to play, so I started this company to create a place where everyone and the whole family could participate. The entertainment at the event brings smiles to everyone's faces. I hope that the circle of happiness will expand.'' (Mr. Takiguchi)

The activity, which started for mothers in Aoba Ward, has now spread to three locations in the same ward. The content is not just limited to mothers, but also extends to multi-generational exchanges. The original two members, Mr. Takiguchi and Mr. Mori, now include Mr. Takada, a former theme park dancer, and Mr. Murakami, formerly of the Shiki Theater Company, bringing the number of main instructors to four.

Furthermore, we are currently expanding our activities outside the prefecture. In May 2022, one of the founders, Mr. Mori, launched the Chiba branch and started classes for postpartum mothers.

Many members are now participating in the activity.

"People who used to work at the same workplace have become new moms and come to participate in our activities, and local childcare support workers who participated when their children were small have become staff members. The number of members has increased due to connections.”

Currently, people with a wide range of titles are participating in our activities, including video creators, web designers, regional coordinators, and public welfare commissioners. You can view the profiles of our versatile staff on our website. The program takes advantage of the strengths of each member, so the content varies. All of these will bring smiles to mothers and fathers who are raising children.

The multi-generational exchange classes held at Fujigaoka are enjoyed by people of all ages.

"Mama Rhythm Papa Rhythm" started its activities in 2017. When we asked them about a particularly memorable event, they all said "Yoga & Dance Festival held in March 2023." This event was a large face-to-face event held for the first time in three years, bringing together dance instructors active in Mama Rhythm Yokohama and Chiba. As a multi-generational musical, 120 people, including staff, participated.

``In addition to the increasing number of nuclear families, opportunities to interact with others have decreased due to the coronavirus, so I value interaction that is not restricted by age. Some of the seniors said that they realized that multi-generational interaction is possible, and some of the seniors said that they felt energized.Since it was face-to-face, it was also good to be able to see the participants' expressions.

The happy faces in the photos and videos were also impressive. The sign language dance in which everyone participates is a must-see! You can watch the day's events on YouTube.

For those who want to participate! In September, a workshop will be held for children aged 0 to elementary school students.

For those who are interested in ``Mama Rhythm Papa Rhythm,'' regular classes are currently held at three locations in Kanagawa Prefecture: Fujigaoka, Azamino, and Tama Plaza. Basically, anyone can participate, and we also have Saturday dance classes that are easy for people who work to attend.

When I asked her what she tries to do in class, she replied, ``I value building connections. I want to provide a place where moms can make friends.'' They say they always include content that will encourage moms to interact and communicate. It's reassuring to have a place where moms raising children can interact with each other.

Baby classes held on weekdays

“We also hold events that match the seasons, such as Halloween in October and Christmas in December every year.We post them on Instagram, so we would be happy if you could take a look.We also hold on-site classes, traveling performances, and trial events. We are currently accepting applications. If you are interested, please contact us," says Mr. Takiguchi with a smile.

Moms and dads interacting in class
