The story will recount the tenth volume of the Tale of the Heike, "Yokobue" and "Yoshimori's Suicide by Drowning." Each story depicts liberation from the suffering of this world and spiritual ascension. In the stories of Tokiyori and Yokobue, the protagonists achieve spiritual growth and liberation by becoming monks, while by ending their own lives, Yorimori is able to cut off his attachment to his family and friends and choose the path to enlightenment.

Tale of the Heike, Volume 10, "The Flute"
Taira no Koremori, with feelings for his family left behind in the capital, heads from Yashima to Mount Koya, feeling conflicted. There he meets Takiguchi Nyudo (Saito Takiguchi Tokiyori), who was in love with Yokobue, a woman he once loved, but turned to Buddhism after his family opposed him. This is the story of Takiguchi Nyudo, who sees off Koremori's final moments, and Yokobue, who was the catalyst for him to turn to Buddhism.

Tale of the Heike, Volume 10: "Yoshimori's Suicide by Drowning"
After making a pilgrimage to the Kumano Sanzan shrines, Taira no Koremori and his companions proceed to the sea. Seeing Koremori being tormented by thoughts of his family before drowning himself, Takiguchi Nyudo wipes away his tears, pretends to be calm, and counsels Koremori. The final moments of Koremori, who has cut off all attachments and chosen the path of enlightenment, are depicted.
