You can see Yoh Shomei's watercolors, oil paintings, drawings, handwritten words, and picture books on a variety of themes.
Vast green fields, clear blue skies, and isolated painted houses, trees, people, and animals... His style, which Takashi Yanase described as "painting the air," has garnered support from many people, and even today it brings a breeze to the hearts of those who see it, making them feel warm and fuzzy.
Our museum has a permanent exhibition of about 80 of these original artworks, which can be viewed six times a year in the permanent exhibition room on the first floor, and seasonal artworks in various rooms on the second floor. The garden features six large American maples and seasonal white hydrangeas and white roses, inviting visitors into the world of picture books. We hope that the beautiful original artworks and words will soothe your weary mind and help you spend a relaxing time.
