The Kawasaki City Art Center, which opened in October 2007 as a symbol of Kawasaki City's "Shinyuri - City of Arts," features the "Arterio Small Theater," where the stage and audience are close together for optimal viewing, and the "Arterio Cinema," where you can enjoy movies in comfortable seats. These two compact yet full-fledged theaters form the core of the facility, making it a place where you can easily enjoy theater, movies, music, and more.
"Arterio Small Theatre" has launched its sponsored performances under the name "Shinyuri Theatre." This public theatre aims to become a regional theatre, a hub for creativity and expression in the Shinyurigaoka area, by bringing together professional theatre and musical actors and production staff. Initiatives that make performing arts more accessible, such as the establishment of the community-participatory theatre company "Our Town Theatre," are unique to the Kawasaki City Art Center, encouraging participation rather than just viewing.
Arterio Cinema is a local mini-theater that screens unique films from around the world that are not shown in multiplex cinemas. It also offers thoughtful services such as barrier-free screenings for the visually and hearing impaired, and screenings with childcare services. Furthermore, it holds annual workshops on film and animation making for elementary school students, as well as video production courses for adults.
In addition to these two theaters, we also have a "recording studio" suitable for narration and music recording, and a "video editing studio" equipped with a Final Cut Pro editing system, both of which are available for rent.
