Hakone marquetry, a craft that began in the Hakone region during the late Edo period, is the focus of this museum. The museum displays a collection amassed over many years by traditional craftsman Noboru Honma, with the aim of preventing the dispersal of this historic marquetry and ensuring the continuation of its techniques.
In the workshop, you can observe the craftsmen's masterful skills through glass, and they also offer a "hands-on workshop" (reservations required) where you can create your own coaster with an original design.
