Yokohama City Museum of History

Yokohama City Museum of History

Experience the entirety of Yokohama's history.

This museum is popular for its circular permanent exhibition hall with no set route, and for the extensive special exhibitions it holds 5 to 6 times a year.
This is the only museum in Yokohama that covers the history of the city from prehistoric and ancient times to the modern era in a comprehensive manner. It also hosts a variety of events, including crafting workshops called "Rekishi Kobo" (History Workshop), lectures, and seminars.
Adjacent to the museum is the Otsuka-Saishodo Archaeological Park, where a Yayoi period village, including pit dwellings, has been reconstructed. Guided tours of the park by volunteer guides are available at any time.
Please come and experience it for yourself!
