A full-scale comprehensive theater that combines European tradition with cutting-edge stage machinery
The design of the theater prioritizes beautiful and natural acoustics, and a sense of unity between the stage and the audience above all else. Inheriting the tradition of the era when European opera theaters were at their most brilliant, a full-scale theater with horseshoe-shaped audience seats, rare in Japan, was born. With a spacious stage and facilities and functions that are among the best in Japan, this theater is capable of hosting a variety of performing arts, including opera, ballet, and musicals. Students will gain practical experience by participating in and creating various performances at this theater. In preparation for performances that require equipment-based acoustic correction, the Wave Front Sculpture Speaker System, which is primarily intended for acoustic correction and causes almost no sound field difference due to phase interference, has been adopted for the house main speaker. It can accurately reproduce everything from operas, which require fine and detailed sounds, to general music performances, which require a specific volume.
