The sculpture "Island Girl" by Kiyohiko Ogawa, installed on the pedestrian walkway of the Jogashima Bridge, was created in 1989 by the Jogashima Tourism Association as a "new symbol." The work is based on the poem "The Girl of Jogashima" by Hakushu Kitahara.
