The Sogo Museum of Art is located on the 6th floor of the Sogo Yokohama department store. It was the first museum in a department store to be registered under the Museum Law (registration number: Kanagawa No. 22), and opened on September 30, 1985. It houses approximately 200 oil paintings and watercolors by artists such as Shintaro Suzuki. Exhibitions showcase a wide range of works from both Japan and abroad, including Western-style paintings, Japanese-style paintings, crafts, sculptures, prints, calligraphy, and photographs.
