ST SPOT

ST Spot Yokohama (formerly the ST Spot Management Committee) was organized by volunteer citizens in November 1987 to operate "ST Spot," a small community space established by the City of Yokohama.

In April 2000, ST Spot Yokohama formed a board of directors, and in June 2004, it acquired legal personality and established "ST Spot Yokohama, a Specified Non-Profit Organization" (hereinafter referred to as NPO ST Spot Yokohama). With the opening of ST Spot, local theatrical activities rapidly became more active. Since then, it has become a base for young artists in dance, music, film, and art. Our organization promotes these creative activities through business development, information service provision, and network building, fostering organic growth and expanding the base of performing arts locally and nationwide, producing many young talents. In April 2004, we established an art education program. With collaboration with the government as our main focus, we are developing art education-specific programs to promote the healthy development of children and the spread of art, including dispatching artists as instructors to schools, training professional personnel, and developing programs.

Although it is the smallest in the city, ST Spot holds great potential, and we position it as a new operating model for publicly owned, privately managed theaters, continuing to operate as a non-profit organization responsible for promoting the arts in a broad sense.
