Illuminations 2022 in Minato Mirai Area
December is finally here.
This year, too, various illumination events are being held in the Minato Mirai area. This area, which boasts beautiful night views throughout the year, is especially stunning during the Christmas season, and you're sure to feel even more excited than usual.
Here are some events currently being held in the Minato Mirai area.
Christmas Market at Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse
The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will once again host its Christmas Market this year. This event is actually in its 13th year, thanks to the warehouse's ties to Germany. You'll be able to experience the authentic German atmosphere, one of the birthplaces of Christmas markets. Centered around a Christmas tree approximately 10 meters tall, the market will offer not only delicious authentic German food and drinks, but also Christmas wreaths and ornaments, creating a festive Christmas spirit.
Yorunoyo -YOKOHAMA CROSS NIGHT ILLUMINATION-
The town's light art illumination event, "Yorunoyo," will be held again this year.
Based on this year's theme, "GROW - Evolving," the area from Shinko Central Plaza to Osanbashi Pier Building and Yamashita Park will be beautifully illuminated with light and sound.
At the main venue, Shinko Central Square, you can enjoy a walking illumination centered around the CROSS DOME, surrounded by scattered light sculptures and music. Various illuminations can also be enjoyed at Osanbashi Pier Building and Yamashita Park.
Yokohama Landmark Tower "Christmas" 2022
Every year around this time, a large Christmas tree appears at Landmark Plaza. This year, Yokohama Landmark Tower and MARK IS Minatomirai, in partnership with Warner Bros. Themed Entertainment, are hosting a Christmas-only event, "MINATOMIRAI CHRISTMAS 2022: A Journey to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter." Under this theme, an approximately 8-meter-tall Christmas tree has appeared as the "Harry Potter Hogwarts Magical Tree," and visitors can expect to experience the magical world during the evening showtimes. © & ™ Warner Bros. Yokohama Miraito
"Yokohama Mirai Light" illuminates a 1.5km stretch of blue light from the east exit of Yokohama Station to Sakura Street in the Minato Mirai area. This year marks the 5th anniversary of Yokohama's largest illumination event, and to commemorate this milestone, a street piano will be set up in the "Art Square" of Grand Mall Park from December 1st to 25th, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful illuminations and music. It seems that you can even play the piano yourself, making this a recommended event for anyone who wants to enjoy light and sound. Why not pay a visit?
